Racha (under construction...) "THE ENRON SCANDAL" and "THE FAMOUS MERGES & ACQUISITIONS"Ich finde dieses Info auf Internet für Aufgabe von meinem Englisch Leher. 难啊~ 其实要说的就是:I found this info on Internet for my English teacher's task.) THE ENRON SCANDAL Enron was a massive experiment in e-commerce-a commodity-trading firm that used the Internet to connect distant buyers and sellers of everything from electricity and natural gas, steel and newsprint to pollution credits and financial derivatives hedging against interest rates or the weather. But while Enron promised to scrutinize the soundness of buyers and sellers, nobody was scrutinizing the trader king. The middleman is unregulated in this brave new world. When Enron management made a series of outrageous and self-interested off-the-books deals to raise capital, its auditor, Arthur Andersen, gave approval. The credit-rating agencies remained mute. Enron's bankers were busy touting the stock as on its way to the moon. Enron and chairman Kenneth Lay, meanwhile, pumped nearly $2 million into the election of George W. Bush, who returned the favor by letting Enron pick federal regulatory appointments. Lay and his agents were all over Vice President Cheney's secretive energy task force, and White House economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey received $50,000 last year as an Enron "adviser." Nearly every party to this debacle--Enron itself, its auditor, the bankers and brokerages--is guilty of profound conflicts of interest. They do not tell the truth to retail customers like small-scale investors for fear of offending their big investment clients. Enron, it seems, didn't tell the truth to its bankers either, and they didn't ask.
THE FAMOUS MERGES & ACQUISITIONS Lenovo buys IBM PC for US$1.25b Lenovo, China's largest personal computer maker and Olympic TOP sponsor, bought IBM's PC division yesterday to become the world's third largest PC giant.

Kodak Announces Agreement With Flextronics for Design, Production and Distribution of its Consumer Digital
Kodak has announced that it will shift the manufacturing of its digital cameras over to Singapore-based Flextronics International. Although Kodak will continue to "develop the high-level system design, product look and feel, and user experience" of the cameras, Flextronics will acquire most of the company's Digital Product Center in Japan, and will be responsible for the assembly, production, and testing of the entire lineup. As part of the deal -- which Kodak hopes will help bring products to market more quickly as well as control costs -- about 550 of its employees will be transplanted to Flextronics facilities in China. March 16 What should you major in?

Ninth is a Norwegian rock band. i remember i mentioned many times i am only a classical music lover. But i decided to see one of their shows of their China Tour in March.
i recognized they are actucally very clever. i am sure they used the search engine of Myspace to find all the member in China, maybe more detailed for the cities they'll arrived, and then send them a message. i have to say, their sincere words made me have impulse to me try a rock live in the pub.
